DEVICE TOPOLOGY

The Device Topology view allows operators to view all network devices graphically on automatically generated GIS-based topology maps with the ability to apply custom filters and searches based on subscriber information and device status to quickly pinpoint trouble spots. Icons representing customer premise devices are displayed maps allowing users to zoom in and out and drill down to the street level to view all customer devices in a specific area. When the user mouses-over a customer icon, a pop-up window displays the real-time device metrics and status as well as subscriber details.

 

CMTS SUMMARY

The CMTS Summary screen allows operators to quickly view the status at a CMTS-level with the ability to quickly drill-down to more detail. At a glance, users can see the health of key performance metrics for the CMTS as well as the number of offline and online users and any thresholds that have been crossed resulting in alarms being generated. This view also provides links to CMTs performance pages, as well as device and topology views for a particular CMTS

 

DEVICE VIEW

The Cable Assurance Device View allows users to configure and view all information about a customer device with quick-link access to everything needed to diagnose and resolve problems. In a single view, users can see all subscriber details and device status as well as real-time device metrics with the ability to apply custom filters and searches to find specific devices quickly. This view also provides links to drill-down to the device topology page for a particular modem to view the health of all devices in a particular area as well as the ability to invoke a real-time Cable Diagnostics Test for a particular device.

 

STREAMS VIEW

The Streams View allows users to view the real-time status of CMTS upstream and downstream streams to further aid in diagnosing and resolving problems. This view can be used to visualize the health of CMTS streams based on performance metrics and configurable up and down metric thresholds with links to allow users to view all devices on a particular stream on the Device View page or the Device Topology page.

 

REPORTS

With Cable Assurance deployed, Reporting allows providers to proactively manage and monitor their infrastructure to identify trends and outliers that are adversely affecting customers and their network. Users can run CPE reports to show historical bandwidth consumption to identify Top offenders to control and optimize bandwidth cost and usage, identify service abuse and improve network performance.

 

CABLE DIAGNOSTICS

Cable Diagnostics allows users to invoke real-time device tests to retrieve device metrics and compare against defined thresholds and PASS/FAIL criteria to aid in trouble diagnosis while a customer is on the line. Tests can be configured with various Diagnostic Scenarios and configurable Customer Service Representative Scripts to aid with first line support and problem resolution. Cable Diagnostic Tests can also be invoked from an external application.
